Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Operations Engineer to lead cross-functional projects for sortation and distribution solutions. You will plan and implement facility network infrastructure, coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, and ensure timely handovers.

You will work with engineers to design, develop, and deliver physical distribution systems globally, manage schedules, mitigate risks, and maintain scope. Relocation support may be provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial/operations/manufacturing engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or STEM field
• Experience managing cross-functional project lifecycles and implementing automated equipment/integrated systems
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360)

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex project lifecycles across organizations and geographies, delivering on objectives as project owner
• Participate in engineering reviews, impacting system solutions, architecture, and facility processes
• Partner with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to set priorities, milestones, and schedules; identify dependencies and mitigate risks
• Lead execution of systems and automated equipment designs per standards; perform installation, throughput, and safety qualifications
• Facilitate effective meetings with clear objectives and stakeholders; document discussions and decisions
• Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership
• Articulate system and equipment designs, including layouts, specifications, and capabilities
• Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across projects
• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costs
• Travel up to 80% domestically with extended trips up to three weeks
