Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

The role focuses on safe and timely freight movement, load assignment, and delivering best-in-class customer service while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Responsibilities include driver and carrier relationships, payroll/financial reporting support, and coordinating with maintenance for equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to optimize fleet operations.
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects related to profitability.
• Assist with training and orientation of drivers and employees including customer systems.
• Assist with planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads.
• Maintain safety culture and DOT compliance; communicate safety messages and provide training.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or related field

High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field
