Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee in Athens, AL.

The role provides rotational training across driver management, safety, routing, and customer service with a path toward supervisory responsibilities. You will learn to coordinate shifts, ensure on-time freight movement, and support DOT compliance under supervision at various company contacts. Ideal candidates may hold a related Bachelor's degree or have equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Willingness to travel to accounts, customers, and events.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• Willingness to relocate regionally based on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn driver training/orientation and system usage for internal and customer systems.
• Analyze KPIs and provide customer reporting and financial analysis at customer locations.
• Assist with inventory, asset management, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Perform payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, and reporting duties as trained.
• Maintain yard operations, perform basic repairs, and coordinate with maintenance for scheduled services.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and staff to resolve service, routing, and issue-related concerns.
