J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Atlanta seeks a Manager Trainee to learn and support the management of a driver count and non-traditional shifts, focusing on safe, timely freight movement and top-tier customer service.

You will train across fleet operations, driver training, payroll and budgeting processes, while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. This is a growth role with potential for advancement within operations management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or HS Diploma/GED with 1 year of related experience)
• Willing to travel to various locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to relocate regionally depending on assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and external carriers
• Fill in for absent personnel and participate in special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and employees
• Develop and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis
• Assist with payroll, Net-Revenue budgeting, and invoicing and reporting
• Coordinate yard operations and maintenance scheduling to ensure equipment reliability
• Support DOT compliance training and enforcement of safety policies
• Plan loads and routes to meet on-time service and customer requirements
