Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Lansing, MI, seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts while ensuring safe, timely freight movement and excellent customer service.

The program trains you to manage driver compliance with DOT regulations, oversee payroll and budgeting, and work with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize routing, load planning, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, or related field, or a HS diploma with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer and company event locations.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and safe, reliable outside carriers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Train drivers and staff on internal systems and processes.
• Plan and monitor freight movements to meet customer requirements and DOT compliance.
