Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the essentials of freight planning, driver management, and customer service. The role focuses on compliant operations, safe freight movement, and developing leadership skills under supervision.

You will gain exposure to budgeting, reporting, and coordination with drivers, customers, and internal teams while advancing toward supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or High School Diploma with 1 year of related management experience
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safe, reliable outside carriers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects related to optimizing fleet operations and profitability
• Learn to utilize personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and employees
• Become proficient in maximizing efficiency of fleet operations and profitability and present reporting and financial analysis to customers
• Gain knowledge on inventory, assets, customer pools, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market
• Learn to perform administrative duties such as payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, invoicing and reporting
