J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in New York is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the fundamentals of fleet operations, driver management, and customer service under general supervision.

The role emphasizes safe, timely freight movement, DOT compliance, and developing leadership skills through hands-on training and project work. You will rotate through planning, payroll, KPI reporting, and coordination with drivers and carriers, with the goal of advancing to a supervisory position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management or logistics
• Willing to travel to account locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Train drivers and employees on systems and orientation
• Analyze KPIs and present reporting and financial insights to customers
• Manage yard and maintenance coordination to ensure equipment readiness
• Plan loads to meet on-time service and routes and resolve issues as they arise
