Job summary

ProTrans in Duncan, SC is seeking a Dispatcher to manage the entering and exit of equipment, yard movements, and local deliveries. You will dispatch local and yard drivers, track locations, and coordinate with dock personnel to keep shipments on schedule.

The role requires a GED, at least one year of dispatcher experience in an LTL environment, bilingual English/Spanish, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• GED or HS diploma required.
• Minimum one year of dispatcher experience in an LTL transportation environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch local carrier city and yard drivers.
• Answer the ProTrans dispatch phone.
• Notify transportation personnel of delays, damages, or breakdowns.
• Maintain dispatch and yard move logs and prepare end-of-day reports.
• Coordinate with Dock Coordinators and SCR’s.
• Track driver locations during shift and update departure times.
• Provide directions to drivers and maintain open communication across departments.
• Identify and implement improvement initiatives.
