Job summary

JB Hunt in Lowell, Arkansas, is seeking a Capacity Coordinator I to support the coordination of carriers and independently contracted drivers. This role ensures safe, timely service through planning, routing, and monitoring freight, with flexibility for day, night, and weekend shifts.

Under routine supervision, you will build relationships with carriers, analyze performance, and prepare customer-specific reporting while assisting with administrative duties and adjusting to a dynamic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1–2 years of experience in transportation/logistics or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics or related field preferred
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights or weekends as needed
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to account locations

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with carriers/IC drivers to ensure carrier setup and productivity
• Learn to optimize operations and profitability through understanding key performance indicators
• Learn to create, maintain and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis
• Learn to manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and assignment of carriers to balance equipment
• Perform administrative duties such as payroll submissions, budget management, invoicing and reporting
• Coordinate yard duties and ensure preventive maintenance and safety issues are addressed
• Act as liaison between carriers, drivers, customers and company personnel to resolve service issues
• Assign loads, plan routes and monitor freight movement to ensure on-time service and meet customer requirements
