Job summary

Hammond Lumber Company in Belgrade, Maine, is seeking an experienced log scaler to join our Belgrade location. Responsibilities include scaling logs, operating a de-barker and trim saw, and unloading and stacking material.

The role requires physical strength and the ability to work a Monday–Thursday, 6am–4:30pm schedule with Friday 6am–Noon, no weekends. Benefits at our Maine facility include comprehensive medical and dental plans, 401(k) with matching, paid holidays and time off, disability

Qualifications

• A Maine Log Scaler License is preferred.
• Previous log scaling experience is preferred.
• Experience in a sawmill or lumber manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred.

• Unload and stack material.
• Support sawmill operations during shift.

• Log scaler responsibilities include but are not limited to scaling, running a de-barker and trim saw, and unloading and stacking material
• Sawmill employees are scheduled to work Monday through Thursday 6am-4:30pm and Friday 6am- Noon. No weekends!!
