Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. in Dorchester, WI is hiring a Log Scaler to join the log yard team. You will learn grading and scaling of logs and support rolling stock, working closely with loggers, truck drivers and foresters.

The role requires flexibility (Fridays/Saturdays during logging season, up to 60 hours), ability to work in all weather, and strong problem solving and communication skills. Company offers profit sharing and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate log quality and determine grade using NWH criteria.
• Measure physical logistics of the log.
• Learn to operate log yard equipment.
• Communicate with Foresters, Loggers, and Truck Drivers.
• Computer entry of log characteristics.
