Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. in Dorchester, WI is hiring a Log Scaler to join the log yard team. You will learn grading and scaling of logs and support rolling stock, working closely with loggers, truck drivers and foresters.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Open to flexible schedule (Friday and Saturdays a must during the logging season, with a total of up to 60 hours).
  • Forestry or Scaling experience a plus, but not necessary
  • Capable of working both in a team environment and alone with little supervision.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong commitment to personal, team, and supplier/contractor safety.
  • Strong skills in problem solving, ability to work through conflict.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication skills – written and oral.
  • Ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships
