Job summary

Hammond Lumber Company in Belgrade, Maine is seeking an experienced log scaler for our sawmill. The role involves scaling logs, operating a de-barker and trim saw, and unloading/stacking material.

Typical schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, with Friday 6am to Noon; weekends are not required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• A Maine Log Scaler License is preferred.
• Previous log scaling experience is preferred.
• Experience in a sawmill or lumber manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scale logs and operate a de-barker and trim saw.
• Unload and stack material safely.
• Follow schedule: Monday–Thursday 6am–4:30pm and Friday 6am–Noon; no weekends.

Salary Description
