Job summary

The Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Front Desk and Reservations Clerk for the MWR Recreational Lodging Program at CNIC Cheatham Annex. The incumbent will use the PMS to manage guest information, register guests, process payments, and issue room keys.

Responsibilities include handling reservations, assisting guests, maintaining records, and ensuring guest security and privacy while providing local area information and services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of daily front desk operations of a hotel or RV Parks.
• Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, and regulations related to hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of an automated property management system(s)
• Skill in resolving customer complaints.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Skill in basic math.
• Skill in reading.
• Ability to handle, control, and account for large amounts of cash.
• Ability to handle, address and resolve customer complaints.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in English.

Responsibilities

• Uses the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest information, retrieve reservations, modify bookings, or register guests.
• Provides assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
• Receives requests and processes reservations; offers waitlist or alternative lodging when needed.
• Registers and assigns rooms/spaces; transmits messages; maintains guest accounts and records.
• Handles a change fund; prepares bank reports and deposits cash as required.
• Ensures guest security and privacy is maintained at all times.
• Interacts with guests about facility amenities and local attractions.
• Inventories keys and supplies; keeps front desk area tidy.
• Runs PMS reports such as Expected Arrivals, In-House List, and Night Audit.
• Answers phones and routes calls; logs trouble calls to appropriate departments.
• Relocates guests to different rooms when required; retrieves Lost and Found items.
