Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a front desk associate for NBSD Unaccompanied Housing to support the MWR Recreational lodging program. You will manage reservations, guest check-in/out, and provide information about local attractions and facilities.

Responsibilities include using the PMS, handling cash, resolving guest concerns, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operation of RV parks, cottages, cabins and other lodging options in the area.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of daily front desk operations of a hotel or RV Parks.
• Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, and regulations related to hospitality operations.
• Knowledge of an automated property management system(s)
• Skill in resolving customer complaints.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Skill in basic math.
• Skill in reading.
• Ability to handle, control, and account for large amounts of cash.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in English.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Property Management System (PMS) to access guest information, retrieve reservation information, change or cancel reservations as requested by the guest, or register guests.
• Verifies registration information, secures a credit card for incidental expenses, and authorizes credit card for room charges.
• Provides guests with their room key or card.
• Provides assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
• Receives requests and processes reservations within established guidelines; offers waitlist and/or alternative lodging when needed.
• Registers and assigns rooms/spaces to guests, transmits messages, keeps records, and presents statements as needed.
• Receives and handles a change fund; prepares Close Bank Report and deposits cash receipts.
• Ensures guest security and privacy throughout.
• Interacts with guests professionally; answers questions about facilities, amenities and local attractions.
• Inventories keys and supplies; maintains front desk and lobby cleanliness.
• Runs reports from the PMS (e.g., Expected Arrivals, Night Audit).
• Answers phones and transfers calls; logs trouble calls; relocates guests as required.
• Retrieves Lost and Found items and contacts guests about them.
