Job summary

UTLX is seeking applicants for a production team role at our rail car repair shop, with responsibilities including locomotive operation to move material, and directing rail car traffic in a busy yard. The position requires safety focus and flexibility to work shifts, including overtime.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, machine operation experience, and the ability to read and follow safety and maintenance instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience in machine operation.
• Able to read, interpret and follow safety and operating instructions.
• Willing to work as part of a team or independently.
• Must wear PPE and maintain safety
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars per switch list.
• Operating in congested rail yard with caution to prevent damage or injuries.
• Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard.
• Maintains a neat work area and reports hazards.
