Job summary

Union Tank Car Company in Marion, OH is seeking a reliable Locomotive Operator/Switchman to join our production team. You will operate locomotives and switches to move railcars, spot equipment, and maintain yard safety and order in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to work as part of a team or independently, and a commitment to safety. Overtime and shift flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to wear PPE and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotive to transport materials and spot cars per switch list.
• Move cars and direct flow in rail yard, maintain clean and orderly area.
• Follow instructions and report hazards and any issues promptly.
• Work varying shifts, including overtime as required by union contract.
