Job summary

Rasmussen Mechanical Services, Lincoln location, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily location field operations, technician support, service coordination, safety, quality, and profitability. You’ll walk the floor, optimize dispatch, and ensure resources meet demand.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervision and 3+ years in field service or customer support, plus a bachelor’s or equivalent experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of personnel supervision and management experience.
• 3+ years in a customer service or field service environment.
• Track record of leading field technicians, service coordinators, or dispatch operations.
• Comfortable with job costing, scheduling, and productivity metrics.
• Strong communicator who leads by presence, not just by email.
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent hands-on experience — we care more about what you've done than where you went.
• Valid driver's license; able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily rhythm of the location field operations, technician support, service coordination, safety, quality, and profitability.
• Back up the Service Coordinator; ensure dispatch effectiveness and priority of workload.
• Support field technicians with parts, tools, and information to complete jobs correctly the first time.
• Manage on‑call rotations and emergency dispatch.
• Coach and develop staff, handle hiring onboarding and performance conversations.
• Review job costing, timesheets, and field reports for accuracy and profitability.
• Coordinate inventory across the shop and rolling stock; walk job sites regularly.
• Support strategy, budgets, hiring decisions, and location-wide performance.
