Job summary

Rasmussen Mechanical Services Lincoln location is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily field operations, technician support, service coordination, safety, quality, and profitability. You’ll back up the Service Coordinator, optimize dispatch, and drive performance across the location.

You’ll coach and develop a growing team, manage on-call and emergency dispatch, and partner with the Location Manager on budgets and strategic direction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of personnel supervision and management experience.
• 3+ years in a customer service or field service environment.
• Track record of leading field technicians, service coordinators, or dispatch operations.
• Comfortable with job costing, scheduling, and productivity metrics.
• Strong communicator who leads by presence, not just by email.
• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent hands-on experience - we care more about what you've done than where you went.
• Valid driver's license; able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily rhythm of the location field operations, technician support, service coordination, safety, quality, and profitability.
• Back up the Service Coordinator; ensure technicians are dispatched effectively and workload is prioritized.
• Support field technicians by removing obstacles and providing parts, tools, and information.
• Manage on-call rotations and emergency dispatch; build a responsive system for after-hours.
• Coach and develop staff; hire, onboard, and build bench for the location.
• Review job costing, timesheets, and field reports for profitability and productivity.
• Coordinate inventory across shop and rolling stock to keep trucks and technicians equipped.
• Walk job sites regularly to see work firsthand and catch quality issues.
