Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Container Driver on a daily-home schedule. Earn $80,000–$88,000 per year hauling containers on a dedicated local intermodal account, with a $5,000 signing bonus. Daily runs to Chicago and back, with additional local work around Fort Wayne.

Expect a day shift with a mix of drop-and-hook and live loading, automatic trucks, slip-seat operation, and home time every day.

Qualifications

• 3 months of truck driving experience or more.
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire; reimbursement provided after endorsement added to license.
• Valid DOT Medical Card must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Report to Fort Wayne yard daily for dispatch and truck assignment.
• Run to Chicago and back each day.
• Complete local work within 100 miles of Fort Wayne as needed.
• Transport containers to customers and return them to the rail yard.
• Day shift: 60% drop-and-hook, 40% live load/unload; Night shift: 80% drop-and-hook, 20% live load/unload.
