Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a CDL-A Local Container Driver to haul containers on a dedicated local intermodal account. You will run to Chicago and back daily from the Fort Wayne area, with home time every day and a mix of drop-and-hook and live loads.

Expect about 60% drop-and-hook and 40% live load/unload depending on the shift. Earn $80,000–$88,000 per year with a $5,000 hiring bonus and other pay enhancements for live loads, detentions, and delays.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire; reimbursement provided after endorsement is added to the license.

Responsibilities

• Report to Fort Wayne yard daily for dispatch and truck assignment.
• Run to Chicago and back each day.
• Complete local work within a 100-mile radius of Fort Wayne as needed.
• Transport containers to customers and return them to the rail yard.
