Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver for good pay and home daily. You will run local intermodal freight with daily Chicago routes and gain opportunities to increase earnings, including a $5,000 bonus and $80k–$88k average annual gross pay.

Shift details include Sunday–Thursday, home daily, start time around 3:00 AM, with 11-hour shifts. Most runs are container pickups and deliveries within 100 miles of the rail yard, with 1,900 miles/week typical.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Hazmat endorsement within 60 days (reimbursed).

Responsibilities

• Local intermodal freight with daily Chicago runs.
• Additional local work within a 100-mile radius of Fort Wayne.
• Primarily container pickup and delivery between customers and the rail yard.
• Day shift: approximately 60% drop/hook and 40% live; Night shift: 80% drop/hook and 20% live.
