Job summary

ArcBest’s ABF Freight division seeks a driver to perform pickup and delivery of cargo within designated terminals. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, trailer setup, and keeping accurate loading logs. The role requires a Class-A CDL and a strong safety record; DOT drug testing and medical compliance are mandatory.

Union benefits, paid sick leave, and a pension plan are available, with weekly pay for hourly positions. Schedule varies by location and may include weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience required or eligible for training.
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements required.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork and log loading sheets.
• Exercise independent judgment for trailer setup to optimize time, resources and safety.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Perform tasks including check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, setup, and cargo pickup/delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
