Job summary

ABF Freight®, an ArcBest® company, is seeking a forklift-capable dock/yard worker for pickup and delivery duties near the distribution center. You'\'ll load and unload cargo, inspect trailers, and perform related tasks with attention to safety and DOT compliance.

This hourly position offers union-scale wages, overtime after 8 hours, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Schedule varies by location and may include days, nights, or weekends; candidates must be at least 21 and pass DOT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience preferred; training possible.
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazmat endorsements required.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT medical requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old and maintain a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork and log loading sheets.
• Exercise independent judgment in trailer setup to maximize time, resources and energy while complying with weight laws.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Perform check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor setup, and cargo pickup/delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
