Job summary

ABF Freight is seeking a Dock/Carrier Associate in Texas. You will handle pickup and delivery, load and unload cargo, and operate a forklift as needed. Duties vary by terminal location, with focus on safety and efficiency.

Minimum 1 year of tractor/trailer experience or eligible for training, High School Diploma or GED, and DOT-allowed prerequisites apply. Schedule may include days, nights, and weekends depending on location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training available for less than 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork effectively and log loading sheets.
• Exercise independent judgment in building and tearing down trailers to optimize time, resources, and energy while following weight distribution laws.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Perform tasks such as check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, and tractor set up, and handle pickup/delivery of cargo.
• Other duties as assigned.
