Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced AV Field Service Technician to support an AV integration organization throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. All travel expenses covered.

This is a field-based role focused on troubleshooting, break-fix support, preventive maintenance, system diagnostics, and customer support across commercial AV environments. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of AV experience, be comfortable working independently at customer sites, and enjoy solving technical

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial AV experience.
• Experience performing AV service, support, or break-fix troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar AV technologies.
• Understanding of AV signal flow and troubleshooting methodology.
• Experience supporting conference rooms, classrooms, boardrooms, or collaboration spaces.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, switches, VLANs, and endpoint connectivity.
• Ability to read drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Respond to AV service calls throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial audiovisual systems.
• Perform break-fix support on audio, video, control, and conferencing technologies.
• Diagnose issues involving displays, projectors, microphones, DSPs, control systems, and AV-over-IP devices.
• Support Crestron, Q-SSYS, Biamp, Teams Rooms, and Zoom Room environments.
• Troubleshoot rack-based AV systems and collaboration technologies.
• Work with customer IT teams to resolve connectivity and system performance issues.
• Perform firmware updates, device replacements, and system maintenance.
• Test system functionality and verify resolution before closing service tickets.
• Document troubleshooting efforts, service activities, and corrective actions.
• Deliver a high level of customer service while representing the organization professionally onsite.
