Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Account Executive, Local to partner with the business community and connect clients to audiences across TV, OTT, digital, and email marketing.

You will craft customized campaigns that drive real ROI and close deals while building lasting relationships with local advertisers. You will apply the Scripps Sales Process, manage a diverse portfolio, and deliver top-notch service.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Generally 2+ years of proven sales success preferred.
• Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings and digital execution preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with company-required limits.

Responsibilities

• Sell advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and agencies.
• Apply SSP to analyze needs and tailor solutions for ROI.
• Manage digital marketing options alongside TV airtime sales.
• Prospect, set appointments, perform needs analysis, present and close new business.
• Negotiate program ratings and ad rates to maximize revenue and create custom solutions.
• Serve as trusted advisor, provide best-in-class service, grow accounts and gain referrals.
• Handle client services, media avail negotiations, CRM updates, invoicing and collections.
• Maintain sales funnel in CRM and monitor KPIs and activity levels.
• Contribute to campaign development through client communication and creative input.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including entertaining clients.
• Perform administrative duties and keep account information updated.
