Job summary

Community 1st Credit Union is seeking a Loan Specialist to join our Ottumwa HQ. You will handle journal entries, payments, reports, and general accounting tasks while maintaining ledgers and working with electronic lien systems.

The role focuses on motor vehicle and DNR titles, UCC filings, and total loss claims, with responsibilities in loan funding distribution and collateral perfection for consumer loans. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficient in 10-key.

Responsibilities

• Post journal entries, process payments, and verify information.
• File and assist in preparation of reports.
• Perform general accounting tasks including processing mail and posting entries.
• Maintain all assigned general ledger accounts.
• Work with electronic liens system.
• Handle Motor Vehicle Titles, DNR Titles, UCC Filings and Total Loss Claims.
• Distribute loan funds and collateral perfection on consumer loans.
• Resolve member and internal inquiries promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of loan documentation and underwriting platforms.
