Orange County’s Federal Credit Union is seeking a Loss Mitigation and Collections Specialist in California. The role focuses on pursuing delinquent loans, executing personalized repayment options, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a call center environment.

Responsibilities include establishing payment plans, providing reinstatement requirements, and maintaining member goodwill while promoting credit union products and services.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in collections, recoveries, loan servicing, or financial institution required.
• Experience in customer relations, problem resolution, and error correction required.
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Reg B and Reg Z, bankruptcy procedures, CFPB collection regulations/guidance.
• Knowledge of Rees Levering, CA Uniform Financial Code, and other state or federal regulations governing collections.

Responsibilities

• Contact borrowers to identify causes of non-payment and provide repayment options.
• Establish payment plans and follow up on promises to pay.
• Work in a call center handling inbound and outbound calls.
• Provide reinstatement/redemption requirements and Final Demand Letters.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
