Job summary

United Community Bank is seeking an Loan Operations Assistant to support loan officers by inputting loans, assembling documentation, and ensuring accuracy in files. You will handle signatures, dates, and data, and perform standard clerical tasks using bank procedures and office systems.

People in this role assist with credit reports, inquiries, and cross-selling bank products to strengthen customer relationships, while also handling loan exceptions and wire transfers as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in a financial organization preferred.
• Experience in commercial and consumer lending preferred.
• In-house or external training completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Participation in compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inputting loans and assembling loan documentation.
• Ensure loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and data.
• Assemble and verify accuracy of loan documentation.
• Check vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures.
• Perform clerical duties using departmental procedures and data entry.
• Order credit reports.
• Answer customer inquiries.
• Promote United’s need-based sales approach to develop customer relationships.
• Work loan exceptions.
• Obtain and work insurance list.
• Create and verify wire transfers.
• Assist other departments during peak hours.
