Job summary

Russell Tobin seeks an Associate to support the FID Secured Lending origination function within Loan Operations in Baltimore. You will drive operational readiness from intake through booking and closing, ensuring complete documentation, proper system setup, and audit-ready evidence.

Responsibilities include pipeline management, closing readiness, deal setup, and risk governance with cross-functional partners, ensuring timely escalation and accurate updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in loan operations, lending operations, transaction management, middle office, or a comparable financial-services control function.
• Working knowledge of the loan lifecycle, including new-deal setup, amendments, funding, settlement, fees, and servicing handoffs.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive transactions and dependencies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to elevate issues concisely and factually.
• Demonstrated control mindset, sound judgment, accountability, and disciplined follow-through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn loan booking and workflow platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review origination intake, amendments, renewals, and funding pipelines and set ownership, milestones, dependencies, and target dates.
• Engage deal teams early to obtain draft legal documents and identify operational requirements, product structure, currencies, and settlement flows.
• Maintain accurate status tracking and provide updates on readiness, open items, risks, and decisions required.
• Coordinate handoffs across origination, booking, funding, and post-closing servicing teams to prevent gaps or duplication.
• Collect and validate closing packages, including credit agreements, fee letters, closing checklists, and KYC evidence.
• Prepare and support deal and settlement setup in approved systems such as Loan IQ and workflows, including control checks and validation.
