Job summary

Instep CU is hiring a Loan Collector II to join the collections team. You will assist the collector in all loan collections activities and provide member services related to loan payment inquiries.

The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience and involves reviewing delinquency reports, contacting borrowers, coordinating with the collection team, and maintaining accurate files. The position is full-time, hourly, in Belle Chasse, LA, with rotating Saturdays at the branch.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review daily reports for delinquencies and high balances aged less than 60 days for all consumer and visa loans.
• Make all written and telephone contacts necessary for collections on high balance or delinquent accounts and add notes to member accounts.
• Coordinate collection activities with the collection team.
• Provide member services relating to loan payment inquiries.
• Troubleshoot member loan histories to help solve problems.
• Record collections activities in member files and keep a one-year file of delinquency reports with actions taken.
• Weekly meetings with collection team to discuss delinquency status, problem loans, and collection plans of action.
• Bi-weekly meetings with CEO and collection team for updates on collection efforts on delinquent loans assigned.
• Provide back up and support for collection team.
• Assist member services with telephone calls and lobby assistance as needed.
• Provide back-up coverage on the teller line as needed, including rotating Saturdays at the Branch office
• Other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
