Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Process Safety Technical Specialist for the Port Arthur LNG project in Port Arthur, TX. You will lead PCSU safety execution, assure compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP and other permits, and drive risk assessment activities across commissioning and start-up phases.

You will coordinate with field supervision, support hazard identification, and ensure safe operation through robust HSE programs and contractor oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in environmental, health, safety or science-related discipline.
• 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with CSU and Operations to identify health, safety, or environmental compliance activities.
• Provide specialist process safety support across PCSU activities.
• Contribute to safety studies (HAZOP/HAZID, risk assessments) prior to energisation and start-up.
• Facilitate Contractor Risk Assessment Workshops (CRAW) and communicate hazards to crews.
• Verify Permit-to-Work, energy isolation, and JHA systems are implemented correctly.
