Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation seeks a Process Safety Technical Specialist for Louisiana LNG project in Lake Charles. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health, safety and environmental regulations across PCSU and initial operations.

You will lead hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety studies, and coordinate with field teams to enforce HSE policies, permits, and safe work practices across commissioning and start-up phases.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Professional certifications preferred: NEBOSH, CFSP, Lead Auditor ISO 45001:2018; IChemE Process Safety qualifications (HAZOP, Bowtie, Human Factors).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with CSU and Operations teams to identify activities with health, safety, or environmental compliance components.
• Provide specialist process safety support across PCSU activities using process safety methodologies.
• Provide input to safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments) to identify major hazards and verify controls.
• Facilitate Contractor Risk Assessment Workshops and communicate hazards and controls to work crews.
• Verify effective implementation of Permit-to-Work, energy isolation, and Job Hazard Analysis systems.
