Job summary

Montana State University invites applications for an Instructional Technology Specialist to lead LMS administration and instructional technology support. You will work with faculty, staff and students to design accessible, effective learning experiences and provide ongoing training and resources.

The role partners with Academic Technology & Outreach, Center for Faculty Excellence, and IT to optimize enterprise educational technology initiatives and ensure reliable LMS operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technology field, education, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with learning management systems.
• Experience providing support to a diverse user population and communicating complex concepts clearly.
• Experience consulting with instructors, faculty, staff, or other users to identify needs and solutions.
• Experience with instructional design, accessibility, or LMS-related training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical support and troubleshooting for the campus LMS users (faculty, staff, students).
• Escalate and monitor system-level issues with vendor support.
• Assist with course design recommendations and best practices in instruction delivered via the LMS.
• Manage LMS accounts, permissions, authentication, and third-party integrations; process enrollment changes.
• Develop documentation, training materials, and workshops for campus users.
