Responsibilities

• Feed and water livestock and monitor supplies.
• Move livestock between pastures, pens, and trucks.
• Inspect animals for illness or injury and provide basic care.
• Arrange for veterinary care when needed.
• Mark livestock for ownership using brands, tags, or tattoos.
• Maintain and repair pens, yards, fences, and equipment.
• Mix feed and medicines in prescribed portions.
• Protect herds from predators and manage feeding areas.
• Order animal food and arrange for delivery.
• Keep records of growth, feeding, production and costs.
