Job summary

SAGE Counseling Inc. is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) in Glendale, AZ. The role uses lived experience to support individuals navigating behavioral health and reentry services, including justice-system involvement.

A caseload of about 50 clients and both in-person and potential remote work are included. Qualifications include a PRSS credential, at least 1 year in recovery, AZ fingerprint clearance, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Must have PRSS credential via AHCCCS-recognized credentialing agency.
• Minimum 1 year in self-managed recovery; former clients must be 6 months post-discharge.
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligible.
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Good verbal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized supports to criminal justice-involved clients.
• Facilitate bi-monthly or monthly groups to build skills and connect to resources.
• Assess social determinants of health and coordinate access to care and resources.
• Use lived experience to mentor and support clients and model recovery.
