Job summary

Assistance-Plus is seeking a Family Support Specialist to work with the behavioral health home team to deliver coordinated care for youth and families in Maine. The role emphasizes leadership and the sharing of lived experiences to improve family engagement.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of parenting experience with at least one child/youth who faced emotional, developmental, or behavioral health challenges, and can navigate child-serving systems on behalf of their child.

Qualifications

• Must have three or more years of lived parenting experience with at least one child/youth
• Experience navigating child-serving systems (behavioral health, child welfare, education, juvenile justice)
• Ability to articulate lived experiences to support families and peers

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the behavioral health home team to ensure integrated care for youth and families
• Provide leadership and technical assistance in developing and implementing family support services
• Share experiences with families, coworkers, and community providers to promote success
