Job summary

Assistance-Plus seeks a Family Support Specialist to collaborate with the behavioral health home team to deliver well-coordinated care for youth and families in Maine.

The role emphasizes leadership, peer-based perspectives, and technical assistance in building and implementing family support services within the BHHO framework. A strong track record of navigating child-serving systems is valued.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of lived parenting experience with a child/youth who has behavioral/mental health needs.
• Proof of Maine driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Parent/Family Peer certification or provisional status preferred.
• Ability to work within 30 miles of home with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the behavioral health home team to deliver integrated care for youth and families.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance in developing and implementing BHHO family support services.
• Share lived experiences with families, co-workers, and community providers to support success.
• Navigate child-serving systems on behalf of the child/youth served.
