Job summary

SHELTER, Inc. is seeking a Live-In House Leader in Pittsburg, CA to support residents of a shared home dedicated to housing stability.

The role requires living on-site in a bedroom, enforcing house rules, and coordinating with social workers and managers to assist residents facing mental health challenges. The position is part-time, non-exempt, 20 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $17.41/hour and a free bedroom on-site.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of community-based social services experience or related work with homeless adults.
• Candidates with lived homelessness or mental health challenges are encouraged to apply
• Ability to reside in a shared living environment and provide support to individuals with mental health challenges
• Strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards is preferred

Responsibilities

• Enforces house rules, policies, and safety protocols to maintain order.
• Manage overnight concerns with residents and respond to emergencies as needed
• Assist with moving furniture and housewares for move-ins/outs and deliveries
• Conduct regular checks of facility areas to ensure safety and cleanliness, and report repairs
• Interact professionally with residents, de-escalate conflicts, address issues
• Collaborate with staff, including social workers and case managers, to address resident needs
• Complete daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and timely
