Job summary

Wolfoods seeks an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at rural summer camps across the United States. You will oversee all prep and production for day parts, manage staff, and enforce allergen safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced setting.

The role is on-site, live-in, with a demanding 6-day/70-hour week. Benefits include competitive pay, bonus eligibility, room & board, and travel allowances.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch/catro- batch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date.
• Strong leadership, cooking, able to navigate I-Pad, versatile with ingredients, identify Big 9 Allergens, sharp problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Culinary & Quality Excellence: Manage operational flow, portions, menu specs, scratch cooking, timely meals.
• Allergen & Safety Compliance: Enforce allergen protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and sanitation standards.
• Administration & Budget: Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Client Relations: Serve as liaison between kitchen, campers, and camp leadership.
