Job summary

West Texas A&M University is seeking a Residence Life Area Coordinator to manage daily operations of a residence hall housing 175–300 students. The role includes student development, community building, staff supervision, and on-call coverage to ensure a safe, engaging living environment.

The position is full-time and live-in, reporting to an Area Coordinator. You will work with a team of about 15 staff and engage in campus-wide initiatives to support student success and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year in student affairs.
• Active driver's license.
• Strong supervisory, counseling, organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a team in a fast-paced environment with students, parents, and staff.
• Experience developing Living Learning Communities in a Residence Hall.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day supervision and operation of a residence hall for 175–300 students.
• Report and follow up on facilities, safety, and security concerns.
• Manage hall programming and staff development budgets.
• Learn and use technology platforms like Office, Roompact, StarRez, Maxient and related apps.
• Participate in on-call crisis rotation for residential population.
