Job summary

Wittenberg University is seeking a live-in Area Coordinator to oversee campus housing environments. The role focuses on developing student growth, serving as a model and leader within Residence Life, and ensuring the program operates effectively.

The coordinator directly supervises student staff, manages three residence halls, supports student wellbeing, enforces policies, and coordinates with offices for openings, closings, and safety checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• On-campus apartment must be primary place of residence
• Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills
• Commitment to liberal arts education and diversity at a religiously-affiliated institution
• Must be able to pass all background checks

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of student staff through regular individual and weekly team meetings.
• Establish personal contact with students to address needs and concerns.
• Maintain operation of three residence halls, including budget management and occupancy.
• Encourage leadership development and programming for student groups.
• Assist students with emotional, academic, physical, or interpersonal difficulties and refer to professionals.
• Enforce campus regulations and conduct disciplinary meetings; support resident advisors.
• Serve as on-call contact for campus emergencies and provide in-hall duty coverage.
• Maintain office hours and presence in central office.
• Participate in Housing Lottery, life safety inspections, and opening/closing processes.
• Promote community and belonging and a respectful work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned
