Job summary

Texas A&M University - Texarkana is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator to help create a safe, engaging on-campus living environment. You will supervise student staff, develop a residential curriculum, and coordinate housing operations while serving as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least one year of related experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related experience.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a positive residential community promoting student involvement and academic success.
• Design and implement educational initiatives aligned with the residential curriculum.
• Maintain a visible presence; connect residents with campus resources.
• Assist with recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating Resident Assistants and student employees.
• Coordinate duty coverage and response protocols for supervision.
• Direct day-to-day housing operations such as check-ins/outs and occupancy transitions.
• Maintain documentation and analyze data for occupancy and engagement trends.
• Support large departmental initiatives like move-in/move-out and conferences.
• Maintain proficiency in housing systems (StarRez, Banner, Maxient, MS Office).
• Monitor building conditions and coordinate with campus partners on safety.
