Job summary

MMS Group is seeking a live-in Maintenance Superintendent for a 221-unit property in East Orange, NJ. You will supervise preventive maintenance, inspections, and ongoing repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. The role emphasizes safety, code adherence, and timely unit turnover.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of multifamily maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of residential multifamily property maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers and HVAC.
• Fire safety and boiler licensing required or in-progress.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work orders efficiently.
• Communicate delays to supervisor and office.
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, appliances and carpentry issues.
• Assist in scheduling apartment inspections and move-ins/outs.
• Oversee unit turnover repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain records of service requests and repairs; stay current on codes and safety.
