Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking a part-time Dispatcher to support public safety and customer service across BJCC properties. You will monitor security video systems, manage two-way radio transmissions, and respond to incidents with professional reporting.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in dispatcher or security roles, CPR credentials, and a high school diploma. Flex hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays to match event schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year related knowledge in dispatch, security, or emergency services.
• CPR certification or ability to become certified.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Valid State of Alabama Driver License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the full range of dispatch principles and procedures to promote public safety.
• Make independent decisions to handle internal and external security requests.
• Plan strategically and recommend improvements to management for tenant safety.
• Collaborate with police, security guards, and other partners to prevent crime.
• Meet deadlines, follow instructions, and use good judgment for safety.
• Operate modern security systems and dispatch equipment.
• Work with others and be flexible to cover multiple BJCC locations.
• Write accurate incident reports clearly and timely.
• Communicate effectively with partners and the public via written and spoken channels.
