Job summary

HBSE is hiring a part-time Box Office Representative for the Loew's Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, NJ. You will sell and collect admission tickets, assist guests with seating, and guide guests to venue facilities.

You will verify tickets, help guests with accessibility needs, and resolve seating issues under the box office leadership. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sell and collect admission tickets and passes from patrons at events.
• Greet guests attending events who come to the box office.
• Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity using approved ticketing systems and criteria such as the event, date, and credential type.
• Provide assistance for guests with accessibility needs both prior to and on the day of the show, including assisting guests who use wheelchairs in accordance with venue procedures.
• Know the layout of the venue and direct guests to restrooms, concession stands, and designated seats or sections.
• Identify potentially fraudulent tickets or credentials, elevate concerns to box office leadership, and educate guests on authorized ticket purchasing channels.
• Help resolve seating disputes and other guest concerns, escalating issues to management as needed.
• Assist guests in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights when necessary.
• Assist guests with lost articles and direct them to the venue’s lost-and-found process.
• Participate in the venue’s sustainability efforts, including conserving resources, preventing waste, sorting waste, collecting recycling, and educating guests about these efforts.
• Partner with fellow team members at the end of the show to close the venue, including collecting recyclables and properly storing event equipment as assigned.
• Maintain order, follow safety rules, and report safety concerns to management.
• Guide guests to the closest appropriate exits and provide instructions or assistance during emergencies in accordance with venue procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
