Job summary

Advanced Systems Group, LLC is seeking a Broadcast Systems Reliability Engineer to own the upkeep of high-stakes live broadcast systems at a Culver City facility, with multi-site travel. You will diagnose faults across baseband and IP media, maintain backups, and document maintenance histories to ensure uptime.

You will work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with client engineers, vendors, and manufacturers, while traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Deep broadcast engineering experience; troubleshoot complex live systems from application layer through physical layer.
• Proficiency in baseband and IP media: ST 2110, Dante, AES67.
• Strong, repeatable testing and fault-isolation methodology.
• Proven live-environment discipline; safe downtime planning for on-air operations.
• Strong technical writing skills; incident reports, MOPs, and user guides.
• Strong communication with peer staff and manufacturers during case resolution.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel across the LA metro area.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead preventative maintenance for complex live broadcast and AV systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across all layers for seamless operations.
• Develop and manage configuration backups and equipment baselines.
• Schedule and execute maintenance around live broadcast calendars.
• Document and maintain service histories, run-books, and a maintenance calendar.
• Ensure organized machine room infrastructure and cabling.
• Troubleshoot and restore services for SDI, IP media (ST 2110, Dante, AES67).
• Apply rigorous testing to isolate problems from application to physical layer.
• Own case resolution with manufacturers; drive issues to resolution and manage vendor relationships.
• Produce incident reports and documentation for operational teams.
