The ideal candidate will have substantial experience litigating will contests, trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and other contested estate and trust proceedings, together with strong first-chair courtroom and ADR experience.

Qualifications

• Significant first-chair trial, evidentiary hearings, mediation, and arbitration.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral argument skills.

Metz Lewis seeks to hire a Litigator to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.

Description

We are currently searching for a Senior Associate/Member to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution group with a focus on estate and trust litigation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience litigating will contests, trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and other contested estate and trust proceedings, together with strong first-chair courtroom and ADR experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to build a client-facing estate and trust litigation practice at an award-winning firm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Handle high-stakes estate and trust litigation matters while developing and growing a client-facing practice through exceptional legal representation, client service, and business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Substantial litigation experience, with a strong concentration in estate, trust, and fiduciary disputes.
• Demonstrated experience handling will contests, trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, accounting actions, guardianship disputes, and other contested probate and trust matters.
• Significant first-chair trial, evidentiary hearing, mediation, and arbitration experience.
• Strong courtroom advocacy, legal research, writing, and oral argument skills.
• Experience managing all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Ability to independently manage a complex caseload while delivering exceptional client service.
• Strong client counseling, relationship management, and business development skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with attorneys across practice groups and mentor junior attorneys.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and expand client relationships is preferred.
