Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on employment law matters, including discrimination, wage and hour laws, wrongful termination, and workplace policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and workplace policies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII.
• Assist with internal investigations related to workplace disputes and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct legal employment-related legal due diligence and assess related risks in corporate transactions.

Metz Lewis is a Pittsburgh-based law firm with a reputation for delivering sophisticated and practical legal advice to its corporate clients.

We are currently searching for an Associate Attorney to join our Labor & Employment Group. As an Associate Attorney in our Employment Group, you will handle a broad range of employment-related matters, including supporting employer clients with day-to-day workplace counseling as well as employment-related work arising out of our clients’ M&A activity. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, including drafting and revising corporate employment policies such as employee handbooks and other workplace policies. It also would be beneficial for the candidate to have experience conducting HR and employee benefits diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions. Some level of employment litigation experience would also be a plus. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, effective research skills, a solid understanding of employment law, and the ability to manage multiple client matters effectively.
